Director Andrew Ahn delivers a lighthearted comedy about the mistakes of a chosen family as they navigate cultural identity, queerness, and familial expectations. Frustrated by her commitment-averse boyfriend Chris and short on time, Min makes a proposition: a green card marriage to her friend Angela in exchange for her partner Lee’s expensive IVF. Their escape plans are interrupted, however, when Min’s grandmother surprises them with an extravagant Korean wedding banquet.
